Called meeting to order at 6:00 P.M. with Jim Richardson, Joe Mattei, & Marvin

Reviewed mail – Franklin County Assessors Association Summer Meeting & dinner
on June 12th in Sunderland at Bridge Side Grille – to
discuss changes to Chapter Land Laws
Signed Bills Payable
Signed Form from Selectboard – RE : Right of First Refusal on
Rainville’s Property – Assessors Do Not want Town to exercise
option of first refusal
Signed MV Excise Abatements
Reviewed Personal Property Abatement Request – FY2007 – filed
late - Denied
Review Valuation of Sawmills – Payne & Iwanowicz – need
to add new buildings, including completed sawmill on Payne’s property
Reviewed Trainor Chapter 61 Land - need new lien filed for them
and old lien released inVan Dyck’s name
Reviewed Remaining Real Estate Abatement – deemed denied – most
of land value is in improved building lot; the remaining land is valued
at APR rate
Reviewed Request from William & Sylvia Smith concerning removing
Land from Chapter 61 – rollback taxes with interest computed and
to be sent to them – some question as to how their daughters will
be able to build on land with little frontage
Reviewed Assessor’s DOR Qualification Form – needs to be
signed by Town Clerk &
sent to DOR. Discussed State DOR’s concerns regarding Land Schedule – Jim
R. stated that they wanted to change this before, but it was decided
that most of the land owners with over 50 acres were under Chapter Land
anyways. Also discussed DOR’s wanting to add value for excess
road frontage; and all thought that this was unnecessary. Roy Bishop
will address these issues with the state during revaluation process.
Reviewed Request for Assessor’s Information to be Available on
Town’s Website – Jim R. suggested addition of Registry of
Deeds web page info for property owners – All thought this was
a good idea
Reviewed Building Permit List – to start looking at new construction
in June
Meetings in June on the 11th & 25th May
28th is a holiday
Office closed Wedsnesday May 23rd – Vacation Day for Assistant
