SHELBURNE BOARD OF ASSESSORS
MEETING MINUTES—JANUARY 28, 2008

1. Called meeting to order @ 6:00 PM - Joseph Mattei & Jim Richardson present

2. Reviewed mail - 2 new plans reviewed for Schechterle estate & Jehovah's Witnesses

3. Signed previous meeting minutes

4. Signed abatement/exemptions

5. Denied 2 abatement applications for Personal Property
Need to check deed to see if lot is included on a single parcel or if it is still a
Separate Lot

6. Review of chapter applications set aside till next meeting when all are present -
Jim to check on one application in regards to 2 acre lot valued at market value

7.. Discussed petitioning the state to allow "home rule" in regards to charging of Farm
Excise. Jim Richardson to check with State representative to find the proper wording
necessary to create an article for adoption at the annual town meeting. At present we
do not charge Farm Excise due to previous vote at town meeting

8. Next meeting February 11th
