SHELBURNE BOARD OF ASSESSORS
MEETING MINUTES—FEBRUARY 25, 2008

1. Called meeting to order @ 6:00 PM , Joseph Mattei, Marvin Peck, & James Richardson present

2. Board members met with property owners who requested abatements and discussed Chapter 61 options available for the larger land owners Map 8 error, lot 8.1 not correct - Will revise when maps are updated.

3. Reviewed mail - Building permits -
Farm Excise issue discussed - Home Rule does not apply to taxation - we need to Petition the state to allow a local option in regards to Farm Excise Tax - Bruce spoke with Sean Barry from Representative Rosenberg's office and he will look for a petition that has been filed previously, so we can use the same wording for our petition Bruce will also contact Shelburne's legal counsel, Donna MacNicol, about the process of filing petitions.

4. Signed previous meeting minutes.

5. Signed Real Estate abatements (2).

6. Signed Bishop bill - final bill = $3,900

7. Signed Chapter 61A Lien

8. Signed January monthly lists of abatements, exemptions, & commitments

9. Next meeting March 10th - Public Officials Training 6:00 to 9:00PM -
We will meet before training session at 5:45 to sign as necessary
