Zoning Board of Appeals — Meeting Minutes — Deceember
6, 2007
Shelburne Town
Hall
A duly posted meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals was held at the
Selectmen's Office, 51 Bridge Street, Shelburne.
Present: Lowell Laporte, John Taylor, William Sweeney,
Absent: Laurie MacLeod, Catherine Smith, Joseph Palmeri, Ted Merrill
The meeting was opened at 7:15pm, and Lowell Laporte was selected Chairman
Pro Tem.
Taylor reported that Joe Palmeri was unable to attend tonight due to
illness. Palmeri asked Taylor to relay that he had a recent inquiry about
common driveways, which may result in a written or verbal inquiry at
this meeting. Palmeri had indicated to the person who inquired that there
are no provisions specifically in the Shelburne Zoning Bylaws on this
topic, and no recent record of any such permits.
The board discussed the topics of common driveways, "curb cut" bylaw,
frontage and access interpretations as they relate to Shelburne's bylaws.
Mail was reviewed. Mail included a letter from the Registry of Deeds
specifying how documents must be formatted to be usable for their scanning
system in the future. The impact on this board is a need to reformat
the cover page of permits or variances, or use the supplied cover sheet.
The next joint meeting of the Planning Board and ZBA is scheduled for
12/13/07 at 7:45pm. There have been two joint meetings thus far. Laporte
reported on how minutes will be recorded. There was discussion that this
Board needed to vote to accept those minutes and place them in our files.
John Payne from the Planning Board is taking the lead to post all such
meetings.
Reviewed and approved minutes of the 11/1/07 meeting with small typos
corrected, and the minutes of the 11/1/07 hearing for Boucias-Smith with
the correction of wording from a "one story" dwelling to a "one
family" dwelling. Both sets of minutes were approved as corrected
by unanimous vote.
The board concluded the meeting with further discussion of the zoning
bylaws and sections currently under review by the Planning Board.
Taylor moved to adjourn, seconded by Sweeney, and it was so voted at
9:12 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
John E Taylor
