Shelburne Town Hall

A duly posted meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals was held at the Selectmen's Office, at 51 Bridge Street, Shelburne.

Present: Joseph Palmeri, Ted Merrill, John Taylor, William Sweeney, Catherine Smith, Lowell Laporte

Absent: Laurie MacLeod

Chairman Joe Palmeri opened the meeting at 7:10pm.

Mail was reviewed, with no new applications found.

At 7:15pm the Chair recessed the meeting for the continuation of the Public Hearing regarding a request for variance submitted by Donald McLaughlin re 43 Bridge Street in Shelburne.

The meeting was reconvened, following the hearing and a break, at 8:30pm.

Minutes of the 3/6/08 hearing and 3/6/08 meeting were accepted as written.

In response to his questions on conflict of interest (relative to the Gitsis application), Taylor provided the Board with information he obtained from the State Ethics Commission for review.

The Board met with Kevin Parsons and discussed his questions about municipal uses in a residential area, and the wording of the set back requirements in the zoning revision document under discussion by the Planning Board.

The Board deliberated about the McLaughlin request for variance. The Public Hearing has been closed but the Board voted to allow for written comment for 5 days. Discussion will continue at the next meeting.

As Merrill had to leave the meeting the Chair decided to hold discussion on the Gitsis Special permit application until the next meeting.

The Board revisited the most recent zoning bylaw revisions, and discussed the special meeting and Public Hearing schedule set forth by the Planning Board.

A motion was made and it was so voted to adjourn at 9:59pm.

Respectfully submitted,

John E Taylor
Clerk
