Great job, everyone! Thanks to your hard work and adherence to social distancing guidelines, there are no new cases in Shelburne this week. However, our neighboring towns have new cases, so you are still at risk of contracting COVID-19 out in the community. Continue to wear a facial covering when in public, stay six feet away from others, and wash your hands.
Contact tracing. If you get a call or text message from a health agent or a public health nurse, please respond promptly. This is an essential aspect of combatting the spread of COVID-19. Also, please be aware that contact tracers will NEVER ask you for your social security number or insurance information.
Early Voting. The Board of Health strongly recommends that all voters use the EARLY VOTING option to limit the risk of COVID-19 infection for the Annual Town Election on June 23, 2020. If you have any questions about the election, please contact the Town Clerk at townclerk@townofshelburnema.gov or 413-625-0300, option 3.
You can help reopen Massachusetts! Here’s a way to actually feel like you have some control over this pandemic. Every action you take now to limit the spread of the virus directly affects how quickly Massachusetts can move to the next phase of reopening. The governor makes decisions based on specific data, not set dates. So continue practicing the precautions that limit transmission of the virus:
One last note. We acknowledge and understand the fatigue you might be feeling about social distancing, especially now that the Commonwealth is reopening and the weather is getting warmer. Resist the urge to forego wearing that facial covering when you step outside your home. Even that short walk down a shared hallway without a mask can expose others to the virus. Your good judgment can help halt the spread of this disease. Thank you!
