Shelburne Planning Board Vacancy
The Shelburne Planning Board is seeking a volunteer to serve on their board for at least a one-year appointed position. The Board regretfully accepted the resignation of their Vice Chair Beth Simmonds whose term in office was through town elections in 2016. The Planning Board and Board of Selectmen will be jointly appointing a new member of the Board to serve until the next Shelburne election in May 2015. There will then be an election for a one-year position on the Board, finishing Beth Simmonds term.
The Planning Board has an interesting list of tasks they are working on, including: revised signage regulations, revised subdivision regulations, new large-scale ground-mounted solar energy facilities bylaw, and natural resource or open space alternative zoning considerations. The Board meets monthly, the second Wednesday of each month with an occasional extra meeting.
Anyone interested, should submit a letter of interest and resume to the Planning Board at 51 Bridge St., Shelburne Falls, MA 01370 or via email at Planning@townofshelburne.com by July 7, 2014. The Board plans to interview candidates at their meeting on July 16th.
The current members of the Planning Board include: John Wheeler, Chair, Doug Finn, Vice Chair, A. Campbell Stevenson, Secretary, and Josiah Simpson.
